Annotating Austen Reflective Essay Assignment
Please respond to the following prompts as you reflect on our collective work on the Annotating Austen project this semester.
Creative Reading Annotations: What value did you find, if any, in writing and/or reading these creative reading annotations? How might we better incorporate this work into classroom discussion of the novel?
Cultural/Historical Annotations: Looking over the work your group produced for the specific chapters assigned to you, how would you evaluate what you accomplished collectively? Do you think these annotations would have helped you when reading the novel? Why or why not? What do you feel you learned (about Austen, about the Regency period in England, about doing research in English) in completing this layer of annotation?
Suggestions for the next class: What do you want the next group of students to know about the current state of this project? Did your class achieve the goal(s) we set out at the beginning of the semester?
